5 Amazing travel experiences in the Dominican Republic
Do you dream of lying on a heavenly beach with a book in your hands under the shadow of a palm tree? Do you want to dance and enjoy life at one of the best carnivals in the world? Does visiting the streets of America’s first city sound attractive to you? If the answer to at least one question is “yes”, then the Dominican Republic should be your next resort.
This island is located in the heart of the Caribbean Sea and attracts millions of tourists every year. Tourists from all over the world fall in love with its charming scenery, friendly people and rich culture. I have always dreamed of exploring this country, and this year, my wish came true. I spent a month traveling throughout February, discovered its charm, and carried out unique adventures, and I recommend the real Dominican experience to everyone.
My top 5 travel experiences in the Dominican Republic are:
ROAD TRIP IN SAMANÁ TO SEE ITS HEAVENLY BEACHES
The Samana Peninsula is located in the northeast region of the Dominican Republic and is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean. The starting point of the tour is Corsón – my favorite beach in the country, which is said to have inspired Julio Iglesias to write the famous song “Agua Dulce, Agua Sala”. To ensure that we can complete the marking of all the beaches in the list in one day, we get on the bus in the early morning and then start to explore this wonderful area on the island. We left Corson and headed to Bonita Beach, where we walked for a long time, admiring its impressive vegetation and beautiful villas located across the sea.
EXPLORE CIUDAD COLONIAL, A UNESCO HERITAGE SITE IN SANTO DOMINGO
Santo Domingo’s historic central community, Colonial City, is the first permanent building in the New World and is home to more than 300 historical sites built by Spanish colonists, including: churches, memorials, fortresses, museums, parks And square. In 1990, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it is the only place in the Dominican Republic to receive this award. Our trip to this colonial city included the most historic attraction: Alcázarde Colón – a palace built for Christopher Columbus’s eldest son, Diego Cologne.
RELAX AND ENJOY LIFE AT A LUXURY RESORT IN BAYAHIBE
The reason why the Dominican Republic is so attractive to people all over the world is one of the main reasons for the existence of its luxury resorts, which are complex accommodation units in which tourists can spend all kinds of things. We chose to spend the entire weekend at the Hilton La Romana Resort, a five-star hotel located in the resort town of Bayahibe in the southeast of the country. I think this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in, and it exceeded my expectations in terms of facilities and service quality.
EMBARK ON A BUGGY TRIP IN PUNTA CANA
Although its beautiful beach is the main driving force to Punta Cana, we still want to take a break on a typical beach vacation. We carried out an unforgettable adventure that made us little known about the area To get in touch. If you want to feel adrenaline in your body, it is definitely an experience not to be missed in Punta Cana. The off-road buggy driving experience is an activity that lasts about 3 hours, including driving on a remote country road and stopping to visit 3 unique attractions: Playa Macao.
TAKE PART IN THE LA VEGA CARNIVAL, ONE OF THE BIGGEST IN LATIN AMERICA
If you choose to come to the Dominican Republic in February, you should definitely spend a Sunday at the Carnival of La Vega, which is the oldest and most traditional festival in the country and the best in the Caribbean. La Vega is known as the heart of the Dominican Republic and is the country’s third largest city. It is full of life, color and tourists throughout the entire month of February because it is on every Sunday and 27th of each month Carnival February-Dominican Independence Day. Prepare to dance, watch the wonderful parade, and admire the original costumes of many groups participating in the carnival.
These 5 most beautiful experiences I have in the Dominican Republic perfectly illustrate the charm and diversity of this Caribbean island and how it suits any type of tourist, regardless of their tastes and preferences. This unique country has something for everyone: stunning natural scenery, rich culture, exciting events and tropical cuisine, all of which are the perfect elements for a good holiday.
